Encounter Community Church is a church community that rose up out of Belding, Michigan in October of 2007 as a church plant from Impact Church in Lowell, Michigan.  The spirit behind this new church plant was born out of the simple longing to see more people discover the heart of God, the way of Jesus and their role in God's story.

Our Purpose (Why we exist)  Here at Encounter, we're striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible.  In short, we'd like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time. We do this by staying true to our purpose below:

To Heal Hearts and Restore Lives (Luke 4:18-19)

Our Mission (How to pull-off our purpose) -To be a place where God's presence is real, relationships are authentic, and healing happens. How we will go about doing this is what we refer to here at Encounter as our three E's of our mission (Great Commandment):

 Encounter God's presence

Equip people to walk in God's presence and truth

Expand His presence to our world

Our Vision (The What, Our Future) Encounter desires to be a missional church, which is committed to building up the church community in the Belding/Greenville area and is committed to seeing new church communities initiated in other areas and countries as well. This will happen by staying true to our vision below (Great Commission):

To see un - and de-churched people learn to walk with Jesus

We are affiliated with the Wesleyan Church and are located within the West Michigan District. To learn more about our denomination, including its mission, beliefs, and ministries, visit wesleyan.org.

Greenhouse is a relational network of churches working together to transform lives and communities through disciple making and church planting. Encounter Community Church is part of this network because we started as a church plant and we believe in this avenue of bringing Jesus Christ to rest of our community and our world.
